At the BELvue museum we are huge fans of the Krokuskriebels event! During the Carnival week we welcome families to our museum and roll out the red carpet for them with a special programme that we can't wait to unveil to you!  From "Mimi & Momo" to "On the road with Zeno" and "I'm the minister". You will have the choice to enjoy a fun activity with your children. On top of that, you can come and see the temporary exhibition of "Comès. Of Shadow and Silence" with an educational game. Discover the full programme of the Krokuskriebels event. Please note that the website is only available in Dutch, but our educational games are available in Dutch, French, German and English.

All children up to the age 12 who come to the museum in costume will receive a gift!

We certainly look forward to it!

Carnival in Belgium: confetti and traditions

Carnival in Belgium: confetti and traditions

On the occasion of Carnival, the BELvue museum created an activity booklet for children between 8 and 12 years old to enjoy at home. This booklet "Carnival in Belgium: confetti and traditions" is divided into 7 parts, each corresponding to a day of the week. Each day, the carnival traditions of a Belgian town are highlighted. Did the children already know these folktales? Would they like to see certain traditions evolve? With exciting educational games, creative crafts and critical social questions, your children will discover in a playful way the known and lesser-known Belgian carnival traditions!
