Italians have been migrating to Belgium since the 19th century. Today, there are an estimated one and a half million people of Italian origin and Italian nationality living in Belgium.

From 30 September to 2 October, come learn about the many contributions Italians have made to Belgian society in various fields (economics, art, science, politics, media, culture, etc.).

 

Programme:

Friday, 30 September

Tour of the BELvue Museum exhibition, in particular the “migrations” room, recital La catastròfa (in italian) about the catastrophe of 'Bois du Cazier' in Marcinelle by singer Etta Scollo, and 'bal populaire' with DJ Andria.

 

Saturday, 1 October and Sunday, 2 October

Tour of the BELvue Museum exhibition, in particular the “migrations” room, children’s activity itinerary, guided tours, book signing with Sergio Salma, author of the Marcinelle comic book, and pizza!

Italiani in vista is an initiative of asbl Foyer (non-profit association), together with the BELvue museum and the non-profit associations Urca, La Comune del Belgio, Casi-uo, Aria-Pagana, Inca-CGIL, Gramsci.

Guided tours:

  • In Dutch at 2 p.m., in French at 2:30 p.m., in Italian at 3 p.m.
  • Duration: 1.5 hours
  • Free of charge (you only pay for the entrance ticket to the museum)
